Ahh-chooo!!
It’s that time of the year again! The itchy and watery eyes, sneezing, headaches, runny nose, and sinus congestion that are all too familiar to so many people with seasonal allergies. In the United States, it’s estimated that 30% of adults and 40% of children experience allergies. Between 3-4 billion dollars are spent on nasal allergies each year!
If you are looking for a more cost-effective way to manage your seasonal allergy symptoms, try using acupressure daily before resorting to over-the-counter antihistamines and decongestants.
How Does It Work?
The acupressure points each have a special function in creating a smooth flow of energy. When energy is flowing properly, we don’t have symptoms. Studies have shown the effectiveness of acupressure for seasonal allergy symptom relief as well. For each point below- use your fingers to apply pressure for 1-3 minutes. You might need to repeat this 2 or 3 times throughout the day if your symptoms are pretty severe.
Acupressure Points for Seasonal Allergy Relief:
LI 20 (Ying Xiang) – nasal congestion, loss of smell
LI 4 (He Gu) – facial pain, frontal headaches (DO NOT USE THIS POINT IF PREGNANT)
